Kitty Ferguson

Kitty Ferguson's interest in astronomy and physics date from her childhood in Texas. Her parents Herman and Prestyne Hocher Vetter raised her in a family that valued science, classical music, and religious faith. After graduating from the Juilliard School and a twenty-year career as a professional musician, Ferguson, with her husband and three children, spent a year in England, where her husband was a Visiting Fellow at Cambridge University. There, Ferguson followed up her early passion for science by auditing graduate lectures and seminars in the Department of Applied Maths and Theoretical Physics.

After the success of her first book she continued to devote herself full-time to writing about science, and her subsequent books include the bestselling biography, Stephen Hawking: Quest for a Theory of Everything, which was written with Hawking's full cooperation.
